Attends Signing Ceremony of Historic Abraham Accords at the White House
WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Senator Kelly Loeffler (R-Ga.) today attended the White House ceremony for the signing of agreements to normalize relations between Israel with the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain, brokered under the leadership of President Donald J. Trump.
“For the first time in a quarter of a century, not one, but two Arab nations have normalized relations with Israel – a historic achievement thanks to the tireless efforts of President Trump,” said Loeffler. “I was honored to witness this remarkable step toward greater peace and stability in the Middle East. The world is a safer and more prosperous place as a result of President Trump’s tremendous leadership.”


Background:
The normalization of relations between Israel with the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain will promote economic cooperation and security in the region and will include the formal establishment of embassies and the exchange of ambassadors. The United Arab Emirates and Bahrain are the first Arab nations to normalize relations with Israel in more than 25 years.
