Loeffler Statement on Impeachment Witnesses Vote
After months of impeachment proceedings, Loeffler wants Congress to get back to work
WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Kelly Loeffler, R-Ga. released the following statement regarding her vote against calling for additional witnesses in the Senate impeachment trial:
“Tonight, I did my part and voted to start to wrap up this partisan impeachment trial. I look forward to voting to acquit President Trump soon. Just six weeks ago, I left my business career in order to serve the great people of Georgia. I was quickly confronted by the sad reality of just how partisan Washington is today. This process has been a total distraction from the real work the Senate needs to be doing for our country to advance President Trump’s America First agenda. More time spent on this desperate attempt to go against the will of the people in an election year will only result in neglecting of the needs of our country. The era of prioritizing politics over the U.S. Constitution and the needs of the American people to take down our President must end.”
