Loeffler Joins President Trump for Signing of USMCA
Loeffler joined colleagues at the White House as the president signed into law the historic trade agreement
WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Kelly Loeffler, R-Ga., joined several Senate colleagues and President Trump at the White House for his signing of the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) into law. One of Loeffler’s first votes in the Senate was in support of the trade deal. Trade plays a strong role in Georgia’s economy. In 2017, over 387,000 jobs in Georgia were supported by trade with Mexico and Canada. In the same time period, Georgia benefitted from over $12 billion in exports to the two countries.
“This historic trade deal strengthens our economy both in Georgia and nationwide,” said Loeffler. “I am grateful to the president and his team for negotiating a strong deal, getting it through Congress and signing it into law. I’m honored to have attended the signing ceremony and I look forward to working with the administration in building off the success of USMCA and continuing to improve trade conditions for our farmers in Georgia.”
