Loeffler: I’m Committed to Working With President Trump And Secretary DeVos to Give Every Child the Best Education Possible

Senator, Secretary of Education Host Telephone Town Hall with Georgians

ATLANTA – U.S. Senator Kelly Loeffler (R-Ga.) and U.S. Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos held a telephone town hall with thousands of Georgians to discuss school choice and the reopening of schools amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

“President Trump, Secretary DeVos and I are all committed to expanding choice in our education system to give each child the best education possible, regardless of zip code or income,” said Senator Loeffler. “Over the last few months, we have come to realize just how important it is for students to be in the classroom and that the students who are most at risk of being left behind often have the fewest choices. As a member of the U.S. Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee, I am working to ensure that every student is equipped with a quality education that propels them to a better future. I know the incredible results that can occur when we empower families to choose the type of school that best fits their children's individual needs.”

“I was very encouraged when I recently visited Forsyth County to see how Georgia is rising to meet the needs of its students,” said Secretary DeVos. “President Trump and I know that we can provide every student in America with a world-class education that meets their needs. That’s why we must expand school choice now, so that every family has the freedom, flexibility and resources to choose where, when and how their kids learn. I appreciate Senator Loeffler for her leadership in the Senate and for putting kids and their needs above all else.”
