Loeffler Connects with Georgians in Social Circle, Columbus, Cartersville, Fayetteville, Claxton and Perry
ATLANTA, GA – U.S. Senator Kelly Loeffler spent the week-long state work period crisscrossing the state to hear from Georgians. Watch a full recap video here.
On Monday, February 17, U.S. Congressman Jody Hice (GA-10) hosted Loeffler for a tour of Stanton Springs, a first of its kind joint economic industrial park located in Newton County. Joined by local state officials and economic development professionals from Jasper, Morgan, Newton, and Walton counties, Loeffler highlighted job growth, business investment, and workforce development during the visit. Loeffler also wrote an opinion piece in the Walton Tribune discussing her visit. Read more here.
“The best part of the state work period is hearing directly from the Georgians I represent in Washington,” said Loeffler. “As a businesswoman, I am committed to helping companies grow – whether it is through cutting back burdensome regulations, lowering their tax burden, or ensuring a pipeline of skilled workers. I am always thankful to spend time at home visiting some of the incredible organizations, businesses, and people that make Georgia such a wonderful place to live.”

On Wednesday, February 19, Loeffler toured Pratt & Whitney, a leading aerospace manufacturing plant located in Columbus, Georgia that provides hundreds of good-paying jobs in the area. Loeffler also met with military leaders at Fort Benning to discuss the base’s important role to train our troops and protect our nation. Additionally, she toured the National Infantry Museum and spoke with WRBL’s Chuck Williams about her time in Columbus. Click here to watch.
“Pratt & Whitney and Fort Benning are great assets to the Columbus community, and it was great to visit the multinational job creator, meet with senior members of the United States Army and tour the National Infantry Museum,” said Loeffler. “In Congress, I will always advocate for policies that spur economic growth and ensure that our service members have the tools they need to keep Americans safe at home and abroad.”

On Thursday, February 20, Loeffler visited Bartow County College and Career Academy (BCCCA) in Cartersville, Georgia to meet with students and school administrators. Loeffler is a member of the U.S. Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions.
“I firmly believe we must promote education programs to help prepare students to enter the modern workforce,” said Loeffler. “BCCCA is a model for bridging the space between college and high school that closes the skills gap and enables innovation and economic security. I was grateful for the opportunity to engage with young people and educators and discuss the ways I’m working for them in Washington.”

That evening, Loeffler attended the Georgia Greater Black Chamber of Commerce awards dinner in Fayetteville, Georgia.
“Business is booming in Georgia,” said Loeffler. “Seeing companies continue to invest locally and expand is a clear indicator of the strength of Georgia’s business environment. I know when businesses thrive, so do the families they employ and the communities they call home. I understand the importance of a strong Chamber of Commerce in fueling our economic engine, and congratulate African American-owned businesses for the irreplaceable role they play in the Georgia economy.”

“Spearheaded by Secretary Perdue, the ReConnect program is leading the way in rural infrastructure investment through the expansion of broadband access rural across America,” said Loeffler. “As someone who grew up on a farm, I know how incredibly important this initiative is to empowering our agricultural communities to thrive in today’s digital age. When we invest in our rural and agricultural communities, everyone wins, and I applaud the Trump Administration and Secretary Sonny Perdue for their continued efforts in defense of these communities.”
