Loeffler Votes to Uphold Conservative Values, Shapes Legislative Portfolio
WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Kelly Loeffler (R-Ga.) today highlighted her voting record and legislative priorities since being sworn into the U.S. Senate on January 6, 2020. While the impeachment trial consumed most of the Senate’s time during the last two months, Loeffler didn’t let it deter her.

Loeffler cosponsored S.Res.463, a resolution sponsored by U.S. Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO), to amend the rules of the Senate to allow the Senate to vote to dismiss articles of impeachment that aren't transmitted from the House in a timely manner.
Loeffler cosponsored S.Res.467, a resolution authored by U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC), to resolution express the sense of the Senate that Speaker Pelosi should transmit the articles of impeachment.
Loeffler voted to acquit U.S. President Donald J. Trump of both articles of impeachment, bringing an end to the partisan trial.

Loeffler cosponsored S.2177, the Taxpayers Right-to-Know Act, sponsored by U.S. Senator James Lankford (R-OK), to require the federal government to make available to the public the costs, details and assessments related to every federal program taxpayer money is being spent on.
Loeffler cosponsored S.2417, the Unclaimed Savings Bond Act of 2019, sponsored U.S. Senator John Kennedy (R-LA), to give states access to records on billions of dollars in matured, unredeemed savings bonds currently in the U.S. Treasury.
Loeffler cosponsored S.2994, the Improving and Reinstating the Monitoring, Prevention, Accountability, Certification, and Transparency Provisions of Opportunity Zones IMPACT Act, legislation sponsored by U.S. Senator Tim Scott (R-SC), to implement reporting requirements to analyze investments in Opportunity Zones and track the success of O-Zones, while rooting out any fraud, protecting taxpayer privacy laws, and preserving the investment in communities.

Loeffler cosponsored S. Res. 466, a resolution introduced by U.S. Senator Cruz (R-TX), to commend members of the defense and intelligence communities who carried out the mission that killed Qasem Soleimani, head of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Quds Force (IRGC-QF).
Loeffler cosponsored S.2695, the National Bio and Agro-Defense Facility Act, legislation introduced by U.S. Senator Pat Roberts (R-KS), to identify the National Bio and Agro-Defense Facility as a national security asset and codify the facility’s mission to provideresearch and development for defending against bio and agro-terrorism threats.
Loeffler voted against the final passage of S.J.Res, 68, a joint resolution sponsored by U.S. Senator Tim Kaine (D-VA), to direct the administration to terminate the use of armed forces against hostiles with Iran. Loeffler voted in favor of an amendment authored by U.S. Senator Cruz (R-TX) to commend the President, U.S. armed forces, and the U.S. intelligence community for the mission that killed Qasem Soleimani in January. Loeffler also supported an amendment by U.S. Senator Risch (R-ID) to explicitly state that it is the president’s constitutional responsibility to take action to defend the United States and a resolution from U.S. Senator Reed (D-RI) recognizing the traumatic brain injuries sustained by U.S. service members at the Al-Asad airbase in Iraq.
Improving access to and increasing funding for healthcare resources:
Loeffler cosponsored S.578, the ALS Disability Insurance Access Act of 2019, a bill sponsored U.S. Senators Tom Cotton (R-AK) and Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI), to waive the five-month waiting period for Social Security disability insurance benefits for those diagnosed with ALS.
Loeffler cosponsored S.651, the ABLE Age Adjustment Act, sponsored by U.S. Senators Bob Casey (D-PA) and Jerry Moran (R-KS), to increase the age threshold from 26 to 46 for tax-favored ABLE Accounts, which are designed to enable individuals with disabilities to save for and pay for disability-related expenses.
Loeffler cosponsored S.3023, the Pediatricians Accelerate Childhood Therapies Act of 2019, a bipartisan bill sponsored by U.S. Senators Joni Ernst (R-IA) and Chris Coons (D-DE), to authorize the Director of the National Institutes of Health to award outstanding scientists and physicians whose research focuses on providing lifesaving practices and medicines to children.

Loeffler cosponsored S.3286, Stop Greenlighting Driver Licenses for Illegal Immigrants Act, sponsored by U.S. Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-TN), seeks to impose a financial burden on states that defy federal immigration law.
Loeffler cosponsored S.Res.280, a resolution sponsored by U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC), to commend the men and women of U.S. Customs and Border Protection, including Border Patrol personnel and all support personnel and their allies for their continued honorable service during the challenging humanitarian crisis at the Southern border. Loeffler cosponsored S.1072, the Pell Flexibility Act of 2019, sponsored by U.S. Senator Mike Braun (R-IN), authorizes a demonstration program for students to pursue job training programs utilizing Pell grants.
Loeffler cosponsored S.Res.478, a resolution led by U.S. Senator Tim Scott (R-SC), to designate the week of January 26, 2020 through February 1, 2020, as National School Choice Week.
Loeffler cosponsored S. 2530, the School Safety Clearinghouse Act, legislation sponsored by U.S. Senators David Perdue (R-Ga.) and Doug Jones (D-AL), to establish a federally-funded database to lay out best practices to reduce violence and make all schools safe in America.

During her first Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) Committee hearing, Loeffler voted in support of H.R. 5430, the bill to implement the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA). A day later, she voted for its final passage in the U.S. Senate.

A version of this bill advanced through the Veterans Affairs Committee as part of a larger package focused on combatting veterans’ suicide and expanding access to mental health services.
Loeffler cosponsored S.2864, the Sergeant Daniel Somers Veterans Network of Support Act, a bill sponsored by U.S. Senators Krysten Sinema (D-AZ) and Thom Tillis (R-NC), to allow service-members to designate up to 10 family members or friends to receive information on VA services provided to veterans and their loved ones as they transition to civilian life. This bill also advanced through the Veterans Affairs Committee
Protecting innocent lives
Loeffler cosponsored S.182, PRENDA, sponsored by Senator John Kennedy (R-LA), prohibits discrimination against unborn children on the basis of sex, and make abortions performed on the basis of the unborn child’s sex illegal.
Loeffler cosponsored S.109, the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion and Abortion Insurance Full Disclosure Act, legislation sponsored by U.S. Senator Roger Wicker (R-MS), to make the Hyde Amendment permanent, banning all federal funding for performing abortions.
Loeffler cosponsored S.130, the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, a bill authored by U.S. Senator Ben Sasse (R-NE), to ensure that babies born alive after an attempted abortion cannot be denied care and have access to appropriate medical care.
Loeffler cosponsored S.160, the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, legislation sponsored U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC), to place limitations on elective abortions on fetuses 20 weeks and older.

Defending our Second Amendment rights
Loeffler cosponsored S.69, the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act, a bill sponsored by U.S. Senator John Cornyn (R-TX), to allow individuals with a concealed carry permit to carry and possess a concealed handgun in another state that allows residents to carry concealed firearms.
Loeffler cosponsored S.817, the Hearing Protection Act, legislation introduced by U.S. Senator Mike Crapo (R-ID), to remove suppressors from the definition of firearms under the National Firearms Act, which will make it easier for law-abiding gun owners to obtain these useful tools for preventing hearing loss. Individuals still have to pass a background check to obtain a suppressor.
Loeffler cosponsored S.1331, the Veterans’ Second Amendment Rights Restoration Act, a bill authored by U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA), to clarify that veterans for whom a fiduciary has been appointed are not “mentally defective” and still permitted to possess firearms.
Loeffler cosponsored S.3139, the Interstate Firearms Transportation, legislation sponsored by U.S. Senator Steve Daines (R-MT), to amend that licensed gun owners are permitted to travel with appropriately secured firearms.
Supporting President Trump’s nominees
Loeffler voted to confirm seven qualified judicial nominees, including Andrew Brasher to the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals in Atlanta.
She also voted to confirm multiple nominations to fill various administration roles, including Jovita Carranza to serve as Administrator of the Small Business Administration, and Peter Gaynor to serve as Administrator of the Federal Emergency Management Agency in the Department of Homeland Security.
